If you want a consistent imaging platform that matches any mount that costs more, then you have to give a StellarDrive 8R some very serious consideration.

With a full imaging 50kg payload, it can outperform a stock EQ8R-h just on consistency alone. Forget the figures, that's seeing dependent. Forget wind, if you don't have an Observatory too. Being super reactive yet posessing a tank-like build, it can prove itself to be more reliable outdoors than many of its peers. We'll spare the blushes.

Isn't the stock EQ8 good enough then? Well, it is if you follow the standard rules of taking about a third off the stated payload for imaging. Where's the other 15kg? It's there, and we re-engineer that mount to make sure you can use all of it. Trust us, our many customers have made sure of that!

Sub 0.2 ArcSec RMS is possible all night when conditions allow, and all without the need for fancy encoders too! 50kg is more than enough payload if you can use all of it. So, while other mounts may claim bigger payloads why pay more for something you're not going to use? Ultimately, it only has one job to do. Track a guide star. Accurately.

It's as fuss free as any big mount goes, and makes the more expensive alternatives - well, look expensive.
