Service 60 Plus
It's not just a Service, it's also an Upgrade!
With the number of mounts we have out in the field over the past 9 years, it's now time to give your StellarDrive or StellarTune EQ Mount some TLC with Our Service 60+ program. If your mount is numbered to 0000 to around 01000, then it may be due. We are starting to see some of our early mounts from 2015-2018 come through our workshop, so our servicing had been enhanced to provide great value, along with improved peformance.
It's an enhanced EQ mount full service, based around our new Atacama Build Type v6.1.x.
This is supported with our 1 year RTB warranty, which is further reassurance for what is now an older used mount. No-one else in the astronomy industry does this.
If you already have a tuned StellarTune or StellarDrive EQ mount from us in the past five years or more, then this will refresh your mount and bring it up to the latest build spec we use in our mount tuning. We estimate your mount will not need servicing for up to 10 years based on our tests and customer data. This is however dependent on usage frequency and its condition. For high usage operation we still recommend a 5-7 year service cycle at the most.

What's Included in Service 60+:
Full assessment of your mount. You will be notified if there are any repairs or parts required before we proceed, which may incur an extra cost.
Complete inspection of the mount head unit.
Complete dismantling of the mount head unit.
Inspection and then degreased and cleaning of each part. Then your mount is rebuilt to our latest StellarDrive X 'Esse2' based specification, along with any new processes or adaptions,including new bearings where required to bring it up to latest build spec.
Drive Belts are replaced as part of the service schedule.
Reassembly to Atacama Build type 6.1.x to your mount model. This is using our model specific improved fully synthetic 'Esse2' indexed lubricant package, which should last up to ten years in normal use.
Resetting of worm gear/crown engagement.
Adjustment of backlash settings in RA and DEC to factory model tolerances, using precise engineering practices and equipment, to a numerial value.
Firmware update of Handset/Motor Firmware (as required).
Check sheet of work done and warranty card with serial number.

What's not included:
This is a Service only based on mounts prevously upgraded by us, not a stock mount or DIY rebuild.
The mount is specifically calibrated and tested to run in to optimise the mount to StellarDrive X performance envolope as close as possible. It is designed to restore or maintain the mounts performance, and should improve it beyond previous build types. This is based on the condition of the mount since first rebuild. However, this should be a major improvement will be noticeable in terms of lubrication benefits when compared our previous rebuilds.
This does not include StellarDrive SPX worm-gear reprocessing, on StellarTune builds. That is available at extra cost, and subject to worm reading for evaluation which does lower the PE tracking, up to 0.3 Arcsec, under guiding.
No reports, graphs or data are supplied after a service is performed. The mount is however benchmarked prior to disassembly for a baseline dataset - for internal use only.
This Service 60+ is a tiered service, as there are different detailed service requirements dependant on model.
The one year Return to base warranty covers work done and any new parts fitted. It does not cover existing items such as handset, motherboards, cables. It does not cover wear and tear on the mount. The warranty is non-transferable.
