StellarTune EQ6R
The all-new StellarTune™ EQ6R Rebuild is a fantastic way to get harmonic drive performance, but at much lower cost than our award-winning StellarDrive™ 6R. In fact, it performs much like the previous 2018-23 StellarDrive 6R
You get the same fluid movement, for precise balance, as well as a 25Kg imaging payload (up from the stock 20kg).
Tracking both guided and unguided is much improved, and can go down to circa 0.3 ArcSec RMS for hours, when conditions allow. Based around our proven Bonneville v6.3.x build you'll have a high-performance mount that will last you years. Like all our mounts you don't lose data, with zero dropped frames every session.
StellarTune™ Vs StellarDrive X™
For the EQ6R The StellarTune version differs from the StellarDrive in terms of build and performance. Both mounts feature the same improved 25kg payload capacity, but the StellarDrive X 6R runs down to 0.16 ArcSec RMS, and the capability of running a 140mm Triplet at below 0.5 ArcSec RMS very consistently. The StellarTune really tops out at 120mm aperture, but is no less reliable.
This is achieved due to our proven StellarDrive SPX™ worm gears, and revised motor pulleys, as well as our new indexed ESSE2 lubricant package as part of the Atacama v6.1x build. The StellarDrive X™ 6R also has dual-micron polished crown rings, as well as StellarDrive badges and red levers.
The StellarDrive X™ 6R is really suited to deep-sky imaging with bigger telescopes with longer focal lengths, and image pixel scales below 0.7 ArcSec/px.
